Something Blue--That's Edible?

I'll bet you never considered your something blue at your wedding could be bleu cheese! White you certainly don't want to carry it down the aisle (what a mess that would be!) many cheeses offer your guests a chance to sample something blue for some additional bridal luck as well as providing a colorful cheeseboard while avoiding an orange color cheddar! Add some boutique crackers and some pretty flags identifying each cheese by name and your cheese board is ready to roll.  Don't forget to put out plenty of cheese knives for cutting!

Chocolate Cheese?

Want to WOW your guests? Serve this Chevre Chocolat Cheese.  I have to admit I've never seen chocolate cheese before but if it's chocolate I'm game!  This cheese is so pretty it's sure to impress both the eye and the palate of your guests.  Order through Sid Wainer & Son, as great web site for fun food including edible flowers and baby veggies.   Sid's baby veggies are almost too good to eat and would wow as part of a centerpiece or other flower arrangement or on a dinner plate.  Take you time going through the site--it's a visual feast for your eyes.  And be sure to order your favorites!

Hand Painted Wedding Shoes--By Figgie Shoes

Want to go over the top for your wedding shoes? Green Wedding Shoes showed off these great hand painted shoes in their blog.  The shoes are created by Figgie Shoes, and the styles and designs are limitless!

Visit Figgie's web site to learn more about this artist who can turn your shoes into a piece of artwork!
Be sure to read how she got her name and about her other endeavors.  Figgie can make shoes for any occasion and does! I love finding an artist who thinks outside the box--in this case, the shoe box!

From Figgie's Web Site

Why just spend a lot of money of designer shoes for your wedding when you can have a piece of art that you can display after your wedding?

Brides Across America--Free Dresses for Military Brides

Brides Across America is a great program that gives military brides a dress for free.  Check out their web site for the date it is coming to a city near you!  The event began with the idea that we needed to do more to help out our troops and their families (or families to be).  Bridal salons donate wedding gowns to qualified military brides (see web site for qualifications).  Most gowns are samples and overstocks and worth up to $3000.  So if you know a military bride you think might qualify, send her the web site and help her cut her wedding budget!  Coming to Pennsylvania July 13 and 14, New York later this month (other states are listed on their web site.

Catering Software

Cooking for your own wedding? Own your own catering business? Are you an event manager? I found this simple but effective software on Linked In.  Called 'Catering Tracker' this web based software tracks all your vendors, lets you process invoices, processes cost changes instantly, generates a customer database and the ubiquitous TO DO list everyone has (or if they don't have, NEED).  More tools include a menu manager and the ability to use this anywhere there is a computer.  You get a free trial so why not give it a whirl? Love that it's web based! Makes it so convenient!

Love Chocolate But Cutting Calories? Try This!

If you are cutting calories but love chocolate...and eat it or need it in one form or another when you are stressed, this chocolate perfume you can find at Temper Chocolate might be just the thing you need to get you through the stress of wedding planning without adding any extra pounds! Temper Chocolate is a tiny yet elegant chocolate shop in the lobby of the Commonwealth Hotel in Kenmore Square in Boston. The owner, Caroline Yeh speaks about the perfume on the video above. She assures us that the perfume doesn't really smell like chocolate (after all you really don't want to smell like a Hershey's factory) but rather has cocoa as one of the ingredients. This complex blend of aromas is sure to please both chocolate fanatics as well as those looking for an exotic perfume as well. Stop in and give it a try!

The Next Cupcake?

Pudding Lane introduces Gourmet Pudding Bars! We have talked about a variety of types of bars for weddings, everything from mashed potato bars to churro bars, now thanks to a company in Havertown PA we have GOURMET PUDDING BARS! The company that is the genius behind this wide selection (with more coming) of gourmet puddings is called Pudding Lane.
Pudding Lane offers a variety of toppings for gourmet rice puddings that let your guests have the final say in just how they want their pudding to taste.
You can vary the flavor of rice puddings and the types of toppings. Everything from fruit to candy to great tasting syrups, and of course, great whipped cream as toppings. Not every topping is available year round due to Pudding Lanes' commitment to freshness.
Visit Pudding Lane, the web site of the great entrepreneurs who are making pudding the next cupcakes!  For those looking for a great business opportunity they have a link that is up and coming about franchise opportunities--I'm afraid I'd eat all the profits, but if you have just a little self control... keep you eyes open for their franchise opportunities.  Also note if you want to stop by their web site they sometimes have coupons for their readers.

Paper Blooms

I found great paper flower tutorials on Knuckle Salad, a great site for foodies and crafters. Kristina's directions on how to make six different types of paper flowers is invaluable. You can use them alone or mix and match them as you like. Enjoy reading the rest of the site for other great entertaining ideas. I love finding someone who offers my readers a lot of great creative and/or tasty content, a site that offers both is a real bonus. Read the directions as well as the comments before you start your flowers. The follow up comments are very helpful too. If you manage to master these paper blooms you'll save mega $$$ on your flower costs for your wedding. Congrats to Kristen and Knuckle Salad!
